What is Powder Coating?
Powder coating is an advanced method of applying a decorative and protective finish to a wide range of materials and products. The powder coating process uses a mix of dry resins that melt and fuse together when heated. The parts to be powder coated are grounded and the powder coating is applied through a positive charged electrostatic air fed spray gun. The electrostatic attraction holds the powder securely on the part surface. Then the part is baked in an oven at 400 degrees, which causes the powder particles to flow together and fuse. The result is a highly durable long lasting finish.
What can be coated?
At Abilene Powder Coating we can powder coat any metal product that can hold an electrostatic charge and withstand the heat of the curing process.
